Amreena,

Thanks for the call. Here is what we talked about, written down so it is easy to look at and easy to change.

Where you are.

The three things you told us about, in the order you said them.

01
The site is live and now needs to grow
The site is up and you are happy with it. New briefs will keep coming and the team will keep growing. Joe, your lead designer, is not on the about page yet. Someone needs to keep the publications and about pages current as things change.
02
The CRM you paid for never got set up
You had Close for two years and nobody set it up. Right now every conversation lives in your head and in your email. There is no pipeline yet for Grace or Zarah to work from.
03
You want your briefs to reach more people
Each brief takes weeks of work. When it is ready, you email it to the people you know, one by one. There is no list, no way for someone to subscribe, and no easy way to send the next one to everyone who read the last one.

What we do.

One thing for each. There are two bigger things you mentioned for later, splitting consulting and the platform on the site and making the site more visual. We can look at those when you are ready.

01
Keep the site current
Up to three updates a month. Small things like a new brief with its PDF, a new team member on the about page, or a text change. Each one takes us under an hour and goes live within three to four business days, holidays aside. If something bigger comes up, we tell you first.
02
Set up Close in your name
We sign up for Close under EdBetter and connect your email and calendar. We build a simple sales pipeline, from first contact to signed, with a smart view so you can see where everyone is at a glance. Your contacts go in. Then we record a video on how to use it and do a training call with your team. This is a one time setup. After the handover your team runs it. If you would rather we run it for you, that is a separate piece of work and we can scope it when you need it.
03
Start the newsletter
A Substack under the EdBetter name with your logo and colours. Your current list goes in, if you have the names and emails. A subscribe box goes on the site and you get a link for LinkedIn. We will also suggest a few simple ways to get more people to subscribe.

Your questions.

The ones you asked on the call, answered plainly.

Q 01
Do I have to write anything?
You write the briefs and the newsletter, the same way you do now. We take what you write and put it up on the site and in the newsletter.
Q 02
Who runs Close day to day?
Whoever you pick from your team. It takes a little time each day to keep it up to date. We record a short video on how to use it and do a training call with that person.
Q 03
Do I have to use Close?
It is the simplest one and you already know it. Close bills you directly. We pick the plan together before you pay for anything. I would suggest the Growth plan, around $100 a user a month, but there are smaller plans and we can look at them together.
Q 04
What if I need something bigger?
Tell us what it is. If it fits in the monthly updates, we do it. If it is bigger, we tell you what it would cost before we start.
Q 05
Who owns the accounts?
You. Close, Substack and the site are all in EdBetter's name.

What you get.

Everything on this list is included. Anything not on it, we tell you the cost before we start.

So there are no surprises.

Writing or editing the briefs, the newsletter or the site copy. You write it, we put it up.

Sending the newsletter for you. Running Close for you after the handover. New pages or a redesign.

The Close subscription, which Close bills to you.

From you

What we need from you.

Your contacts, if you have them in a list or a spreadsheet.

A few minutes to sign in when we connect your email and calendar to Close.

Your card details in Close when we pick the plan, since Close bills you directly.

Anything you want on the site: bios, photos, PDFs.

The timeline.

It takes about two weeks to set everything up. After that the site work is monthly. You send it, we put it up.

SetupThe first two weeks

Close set up in your name and your contacts in. The Substack built and your list in. The first site updates live. The training call with your team.

Then, monthlyFrom week three

Close is set up and your team knows how to use it. The newsletter is ready to send. You send us site updates as they come up and we put them up.

Two things can slow it down: getting your contacts list, and picking the Close plan.

Your investment.

Each one on its own line, so you can look at each one on its own.

WhatPrice
Close setup$2,000, one time. About 20 hours of work to set it up properly.
Newsletter setup$400, one time. The basic setup listed above.
Website upkeep$250 a month, up to three updates.

Bigger work, or anything custom on the newsletter: we tell you the cost before we start.

We set this up as a contract on Upwork, so the payments and the work are in one place.

In writing

What you can count on.

|

When you are ready for the bigger things, splitting consulting and the platform on the site or making it more visual, we scope them the same way: written down, priced first.

The terms.

One

The work

The three things listed under What you get, for EdBetter. Anything outside that list is quoted before we start it, never assumed in.

Two

Payment

Through a contract on Upwork. The Close setup and the newsletter setup are one time. Website upkeep is monthly and you can stop it whenever you like by telling us.

Three

Your accounts

Close, Substack and the site are in EdBetter's name and stay yours. We keep access only for as long as we work on them.

Saying yes.

Reply with anything you want to change.

I send you the contract on Upwork.

Soaiba starts on the site and I start on Close.

Thanks Amreena. Looking forward to it.
